HISTORY OF HEBRON-HARVEST INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIESDearly beloved, “Great is thy faithfulness” Lam. 3; 23 Welcome to the month of November, 2000. The day Hebron-Harvest Int’l Ministries was born. It’s been years of God faithfulness. God has been truly good to us. We rejoice and praise Him and our hearts are filled with gratitude to our merciful father, who stood by us in weakness, in need and in our failures. The God that abandons you in your hour of weakness, need and failure is no God. Our God stood by us throughout the past years. He watched us take good and bad steps. He endures us and shows us mercy and approved us. He equally rebuked and corrected us and did not forsake us. Blessed be the name of the Lord. I implore every member of this church to bless God in their hearts and thank God for giving our generation here in Bangkok and environ the Hebron – Harvest International Ministries. Let us rejoice and be glad indeed for God has spoken well concerning us as a Ministry We have made giant strides in the area of our calling and gifting. God called us to a prayer and mission ministries and it is wonderful to see people, men and women in our ministries who have enjoy dynamic relationship with the lord, people who never saw and knew more than the hand of God before , now coming into the knowledge of the heart and the face of God. Our people are moving from serving God for self interest and what God can give them, to serving and worshipping God for who God is to us, not just for what God can give to us. People come into our ministry not as a religious prayer place, but to learn and understand that a prayer less Christian is a power less Christian. Today most of our people do not see prayer as just a closing eyes and making noise, but they now know that there are absolute power in prayer. God is helping us to raise confidence Christian and strong believers in Jesus Christ. Our evangelistic efforts are yielding tremendous results. Most of our members are not just aware of evangelism as God’s heart beat, but as a command. We are gladly involved in the evangelizing not only to blacks in Thailand but other race also. God have recently bless the church with another prayer outlet in Pratunam known and called the LUNCH HOUR INTER-DENOMINATION FELLOWSHIP. This fellowship takes place in Pratunam every Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays by 12.30 – 14; 00 hrs. We gathered there this day to pray for the business owners and calling for supernatural financial breakthrough to come upon the people of the Pratunam and their visitors. And to bind the demonic power that have been in place to frustrate all manner of people who come to Pratunam to do business. Every effort in meeting the needs of the Ministry financially and materially has had to come from the ordinary members of our local assembly. As a church, we strictly trust in God for the entire needs of the church, putting our faith in His word as contained in the book of Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun this good work in this ministry will not leave it uncompleted before the days of Jesus Christ”. We trust the promises of God dangerously especially as contained in the book of Philippians 4:19 “And our God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” Our three-fold vision and purpose is clear to all, and this is the doing of the Lord. We Thank God for all He has done and for the many more things He will do. Our pride as a ministry is our success in presenting God to people. We may not have succeeded in presenting miracles to many who came into our midst looking for miracle and breakthrough, but we are satisfied that we have been able to clearly present God to men without fear or favor and without compromising or diluting the word of God. And curiously enough it is our hope that our people will soon begin to enter into material and spiritual blessing as many have now found God. As we look at the days ahead, the leadership of the ministry rededicates itself to the three-fold commission of building strong and prayerful people, to plant strong and prayerful church with passion for Jesus Christ. To the causal observer, the meeting of what became the Hebron-harvest International Ministries took place on the March 16th, 2000 seven people gather together and all of us were totally ignorant of what the Lord has set us into. However, after stepping into the small room of Sister Sarah and Sister Ruth on the 8th floor of Benz resident hotel in Pratunam by 7.00 pm, it would not take more than a few minutes to notice the change atmosphere of the Holy Spirit in the room. The worship, the announcement and message provoke our zeal and further commitment to God that wonderful evening. This day marked the beginning of a remarkable work of God not only in Pratunam. But also throughout the city of Bangkok. Within the second of our meeting the Holy Spirit through the assembly recorded the first Victory as the kingdom of darkness in Pratunam also recorded a great lost that day. One Nigerian popular guy who was a stunt Moslem got converted into Christendom. His Moslem name was subsequently changed by the directive of the Holy Spirit. That brother is now on fire for God and winning souls for Jesus Christ. To Him is the glory. This was a hint of what was to come. People continue to respond to the gospel every Sunday since that day. As a result, H.I.M became the first and the largest African pioneered church in Thailand. H.I.M desires to obey Christ’s great commission to preach the gospel, baptize believers and make disciples throughout every corner of Bangkok, Thailand and all the nations of the earth. Before the first anniversary of the church. As a result of continued evangelism, the harvest of souls became increasingly high as the Indra hotel and Noori restaurant that we were using for worship could no longer accommodate us. The church decided to move to a large place in Asoke, which could hold up to 100 people and above. By the end of our seven months in Asoke relocation became necessary. Following the faithfulness of God and His willingness to always draw people unto Himself and for His kingdom work, He provided us with another place of worship in Ekkamai in Wattana district, this time a complete town house that became more conducive than the Asoke worship place in line with the book of Hag.2:9 Hebron – Harvest International seems to puzzle with activities and excitement at all hours of the days during every day of the week. This is because a high priority is place on training every member to serve God and to use every of His gift in our lives to serve Him, H.I.M refused to allow the circumstance and environment of Thailand to change our dedicated style and time of worship. In H.I.M we spend quality time in teaching and preaching the word of God to people in our services which have been nick name us as the long service church in Bangkok. Not that we chose to waste people time during our services. But because God is lamenting that His people are perishing because of lack of knowledge. We are also aware that those who are highly impatient with the move of Holy Spirit, often feel we are wasting time in our services, but to many others who knows that it is expedience to allow the Holy Spirit to rule and reign over us, understand that those that wait on the lord will renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31) On our arrival in Ekkamai, the Lord gave us another vision to teach all categories of Thai people in Ekkamai, English language free of charge. This program was laudably greeted and welcome by Ekkamai community. This program has also bridge the expected gap and suspicions between the church and the people of Ekkamai. Who are greatly infested with Moslem and Buddhist people. The response of the people of Ekkamai toward our free preparatory English school for the Thaïs force us to run the classes twice a day Monday through Monday. Our vision is to eradicate illiteracy among Thai people in Ekkamai community and its environ and later get them to know that this program was divinely brought to them by God as a demonstration of His unflinching love for them. The history of H.I.M will not be complete if we fail to mention and thank the following brothers and sisters for their immense contribution and support during their stay with us. H.I.M gladly greets and recognizes Evens Uche Amagwula, Evans. Adebayo Gbadebo, Bro Uche Ijere and late sister Ifeoma Ijere, Bro Charles and sister Amaka, Bro. Nat Ousji, Bro Ejim, Bro. Kizzito etc. The above mentioned people were foundational members of this ministry before they were relocated to various mission fields. Your names will forever be remembered in our memories We also thank and recognize others people like Pastor Kekere Peter and Pastor Aaron who started their mission work in Thailand from this ministry before relocating to other mission fields Our greatest thanks goes to God Almighty who kept these brothers and sister focused and steadfast in the vineyard without allowing them to backslide even after their relocation. H.I.M also operate prison ministry and was able to establish the fellowship of about 78 people in the woman correctional institution Ladjao. The pastoral team of this ministry fellowship with these inmates three times in a month since 3rd march 2002, through the provision of God, the church was able to save the lives of two of these inmates by sponsoring their major medical surgery. H.I.M also operate charity ministry, we have so far been visiting the orphanage homes and the Phayathai home of disable children twice a year and presenting food and beverage to them. We also collect used clothes from people and send to the prisoners and those awaiting deportation in IDC. H.I.M gives temporary accommodation and various aids to the African who are stranded in Thailand and assist those of them that can not make it here to go back to their countries. PERSECUTION. As a vibrant bible church, H.I.M has undergone so many persecution and afflictions. But with God on our side we were able to overcome them according to His word in Psalm 34:10 “Many are the affliction of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them” As a church, we are surviving through the word of God. The book of Philippians 4:11-14 said “Now that I speak in regard to need for I have learned in whatever state I am to be content, I know how to be abased, and I know how to be abounded. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me” I do not have accurate word enough to express my heart felt gratitude to the leadership of this church for there unflinching resolved and love in making sure that this church continues to match forward. I encourage you leaders with this scripture Galatians 6’9 “And let us not grow weary while doing well, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart”. Deut. 31” Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them, for the Lord your God, He is the one who goes with you; he will not leave you nor forsake you. To the entire congregation: I thank those of you who have patiently endured our slow and sluggish way of growing in the Lord like a child who is learning on how to walk. I appeal to you passionately to live in peace and in unity with one another and continue to be steadfastly in the present of God. No matter the circumstance and environment. If you don’t believe in us as a person, kindly believe in the work that you see us doing. (John 10:25 and John 14:10-11 Appreciation to my wife and my daughters and few leaders Finally, I want to thank you for standing by us and believing in us enough to support us. Your support has been another expression of God’s faithfulness. Welcome to our ministry. For better days are ahead of us all. Thanks and God bless. Bishop Frank Owali |
